Capati inspects MRT-3 stations on first day as returning GM

MANILA – Metro Rail Transit Line 3 (MRT-3) General Manager Michael Capati conducted an inspection of all MRT-3 stations on Tuesday, his first day back as chief of the rail service.

The inspection focused on evaluating the condition of facilities, including escalators, elevators, and comfort rooms. Capati also visited the footbridge at Taft Avenue Station, where a recent clearing operation removed ambulant vendors obstructing passenger movement.

Capati emphasized the importance of understanding the situation on the ground to address passenger concerns effectively. He also urged MRT-3 passengers to report any issues to the office.

“Sa ganitong paraan po, matitiyak natin na natutugunan natin ang pangangailangan ng ating mga pasahero. Ito po ang kabilin-bilinan ng ating Department of Transportation (DOTr) Secretary Vince Dizon,” Capati said.

Capati was sworn in by DOTr Secretary Vince Dizon on Monday after his appointment by President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. on March 26. He previously served as MRT-3 GM in 2022 and has been the MRT-3’s director for operations since 2017.
