The Jollibee Group recently welcomed the Honourable Heath MacDonald, Canada’s Minister of Agriculture and Agri-Food, to its Manila headquarters to discuss deeper collaboration on supply chain and sourcing initiatives. The visit highlighted both sides’ shared goal of strengthening Canada’s role in Jollibee Group’s global operations.

Joining Minister MacDonald were senior Canadian officials including His Excellency David Hartman, Ambassador of Canada to the Philippines; Ms. Diedrah Kelly, Executive Director of the Indo-Pacific Agriculture and Agri-Food Office; and Ms. Eleonor Rupprecht, Acting Senior Trade Commissioner of the Canadian Embassy.

They were received by Jollibee Group Global President and CEO Ernesto Tanmantiong, who shared the company’s expanding footprint in Canada. As of July 2025, Jollibee operates 28 stores across five provinces—12 in Ontario, 8 in Alberta, and others in Manitoba, Saskatchewan, and British Columbia. Its better-burger brand, Smashburger, has also established six stores across the country.

“Canada is both a growth market and a vital sourcing hub for us,” said Tanmantiong. “Working closely with Canadian partners allows us to expand our store network while building a stronger, more localized supply chain to serve our customers worldwide.”

Discussions during the meeting focused on leveraging Canada’s high-quality agricultural products, sourcing key ingredients locally, and exploring logistics solutions to support Jollibee’s growing presence in North America and beyond.

Minister MacDonald emphasized the strong cultural connection Jollibee has built in Canada. “Jollibee has truly won the hearts of Canadians. We are proud that Canada has become one of your global expansion hubs and that you are contributing to our vibrant food landscape,” he said.

To cap off their visit, Minister MacDonald and his delegation experienced Jollibee’s signature joyful dining at the brand’s milestone 1000th store in Bonifacio Global City, Taguig. They enjoyed Filipino favorites like Chickenjoy fried chicken and joined a Jolly Kiddie Party, showcasing the brand’s blend of great food and family-friendly fun.

The Jollibee Group continues to see Canada as a strategic partner for both expansion and supply chain growth. With support from Canada’s agriculture and trade sectors, the company is eyeing new opportunities for collaboration, innovation, and sustainable growth across the global food service industry.
