BSP Warns Public Against Online Job Scam Using Deputy Governor’s Image

The Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) has warned the public about a fraudulent online job scheme using the image of BSP Deputy Governor Chuchi Fonacier.

In an advisory released Monday, the BSP said it received reports of unsolicited Viber messages from a sender using Fonacier’s photo to promote supposed job offers in an e-commerce company, with promised daily earnings of PHP500 to PHP5,000.

The BSP clarified that official job postings are only available on its website and verified social media pages.

“To guard against possible illegal activities, the BSP urges the public to refrain from engaging with and providing personal information to unknown individuals,” the advisory stated.

The central bank also advised the public to verify any messages or transactions claiming to involve BSP personnel and to report suspicious activities to the BSP directly.
