BSP names 6 institutions as ‘outstanding’ Mindanao partners

In simple ceremonies in Davao City, the Bangkok Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) gave recognition to six institutions in Mindanao as ‘outstanding partners’ for their contributions to the BSP’s programs and advocacies.

The recognition was given during the 2026 Outstanding BSP Stakeholders Appreciation Ceremony with South Cotabato leading the honorees that include East West Banking Corp.-Cagayan de Oro, Land Bank of the Philippines-Cash Operations Unit Davao, Land Bank-Cotabato Branch, Regional Development Council-Caraga and the Bangsamoro Information Office.

According to the central bank, the Mindanao awardees were recognized for their contributions in areas that included efficient cash circulation, digital payments and financial inclusion, the regional rollout of the Paleng-QR Ph Plus program and information campaigns supporting BSP advocacies, among others.

In his acceptance speech, South Cotabato governor Reynaldo Tamayo, Jr. expressed deep gratitude for the award, citing that the recognition reflects the work of its employees and partners in promoting “responsible governance, financial inclusion and public service.”

BSP deputy governor Bernadette Romulo-Puyat noted that the central bank’s local partners play an important role in bringing their policies and programs closer to communities.

“A good policy is only the beginning. Its real value is seen when it reaches people and makes a difference in their everyday lives,” Romulo-Puyat stressed.

Monetary Board member Romeo Bernardo credited the BSP’s partners for helping support economic growth in Mindanao and the central bank’s programs.

“Last year, five out of Mindanao’s six regions grew faster than the average. You contributed to that growth. You have also contributed to BSP’s initiatives and advocacies, which we thank you for,” Bernardo pointed out.
