Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) Governor Eli Remolona, Jr. has once again earned global recognition, securing an “A-” rating in Global Finance magazine’s prestigious Central Banker Report Cards 2025. This marks the second straight year that Remolona has been listed among the world’s best central bank governors.
The annual report evaluates nearly 100 central bankers worldwide, grading them from A+ to F based on their performance in inflation control, economic growth, currency stability, interest rate management, and independence.
“We thank Global Finance for recognizing the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas’ efforts in keeping prices stable, the financial system sound, and payments running smoothly. This recognition is really a credit to the entire BSP team and their commitment to our mandates,” Remolona said in a statement.
Remolona joins other top-rated central bank leaders who also received an “A-” rating, including those from Cambodia, Czech Republic, Dominican Republic, Egypt, Ethiopia, the European Union, Guatemala, Mongolia, Serbia, Singapore, South Africa, Taiwan, and Uganda.
Global Finance founder and editorial director Joseph Giarraputo underscored the significance of the recognition, saying, “Our annual Central Banker Report Cards recognize those leaders who have not only delivered results but done so with independence, discipline, and strategic foresight.”
