PASAY CITY – The Bureau of Customs at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (BOC-NAIA) has intercepted suspected shabu worth about P496 million concealed inside machinery shipped from Mexico.
According to the BOC, the illegal drugs were discovered hidden within the imported equipment during inspection by authorities.
The shipment was seized as part of the bureau’s intensified campaign against the smuggling of illegal drugs and other prohibited goods through the country’s ports of entry.
Authorities are expected to conduct further investigation to identify the individuals behind the shipment and determine its intended recipients.
The intercepted substance will also undergo the required examination and proper turnover to the appropriate authorities for further investigation and disposition.
