The Bureau of Customs (BOC) destroyed Php 179.03 million worth of smuggled cigarettes and dried tobacco in Porac, Pampanga, as part of its continuing crackdown on illegal trade.

The destruction was carried out by the BOC-Manila International Container Port (MICP) to ensure that the confiscated tobacco products would not reenter the market.

In a news release on Sunday, October 25, 2026, the agency said the operation formed part of its efforts to combat smuggling, protect government revenue, and prevent the illegal distribution of tobacco products.

The BOC emphasized its commitment to strengthening enforcement measures against illicit trade and ensuring the proper disposal of seized contraband.

The agency continues to implement anti-smuggling initiatives aimed at protecting legitimate businesses, safeguarding government revenues, and enforcing customs laws.
