Bitget, a global leader in cryptocurrency exchange and Web3 innovation, is joining forces with UNICEF Luxembourg in a groundbreaking three-year partnership that aims to bring blockchain education to hundreds of thousands of young people worldwide.
Under this alliance, Bitget becomes part of UNICEF’s Game Changers Coalition (GCC) — a movement spearheaded by the UNICEF Office of Innovation to democratize access to digital skills. The initiative will deliver blockchain training to 300,000 individuals—including adolescent girls, parents, teachers, and mentors—across eight countries: Armenia, Brazil, Cambodia, India, Kazakhstan, Malaysia, Morocco, and South Africa. A ninth country will soon be added thanks to Bitget’s support.
At the heart of this partnership is Bitget Academy, the company’s educational arm, which will co-develop UNICEF’s first hybrid blockchain learning module. This unique curriculum, combining online and in-person formats, will integrate video game development to make learning more accessible and engaging for the youth. The training is set to become a vital part of a curriculum that already reaches hundreds of thousands globally.
“This partnership reflects our shared belief that digital skills are a powerful driver of opportunity and inclusion,” said Sandra Visscher, Executive Director of UNICEF Luxembourg. “By collaborating with Bitget, we want to give young people the tools and confidence to shape their futures. Technology should work for everyone, everywhere.”
Bitget is also opening the door for further collaboration, aiming to connect UNICEF with leading blockchain protocols and Web3 developers. These experts could join the program as mentors or partners, enriching the initiative with real-world insight and innovative thinking.
“Blockchain isn’t just about finance—it’s a tool for empowerment,” said Gracy Chen, CEO of Bitget. “We started with Blockchain4Her to uplift hundreds of women, and now we’re scaling to reach thousands of girls around the world. Education should never be a privilege—it should be a right.”
The initiative comes at a crucial time. Studies show that young women in low- and middle-income countries lose out on $15 billion annually in economic opportunities due to digital skill gaps and unequal internet access. With 90% of jobs today requiring digital literacy, the need for inclusive, future-ready education has never been greater.
Together, Bitget and UNICEF are building a blueprint for scalable, gender-inclusive digital education. Their efforts align with the broader mission of the Game Changers Coalition, which includes global partners like the Global Video Game Coalition, Micron Foundation, and Women in Games, united in a mission to reach 1.1 million girls by 2027.
Backed by Bitget’s $10 million Blockchain4Her initiative, the collaboration will empower more girls at a younger age to achieve financial independence and digital fluency through blockchain literacy.
Through mentorships, funding, and tailored learning experiences, Bitget and UNICEF Luxembourg are laying the foundation for a future where no girl is left behind in the digital revolution.
