
LEGAZPI CITY – The Police Regional Office in Bicol (PRO-5) confiscated illegal drugs worth PHP9.52 million and arrested 26 suspects over a weeklong intensified anti-drug operations from Nov. 26 to 30.
During the period, PRO-5 Regional Director Brig. Gen. Nestor Babagay Jr. said operatives conducted 25 operations, resulting in the arrest of 26 individuals, including three high-value targets and 23 street-level suspects.
A total of 1,400.524 grams of shabu and 47.26 grams of marijuana were seized.
Among the provinces in the region, Camarines Sur accounted for the largest portion of the confiscated drugs at PHP7.34 million, followed by Albay with PHP1.66 million; Sorsogon with PHP68,960; Masbate with PHP68,000; Camarines Norte with PHP40,800.00; Naga City with PHP3,600; and Catanduanes with PHP2,720.
Meanwhile, the Regional Police Drug Enforcement Unit seized illegal drugs worth PHP333,200.
“PNP Bicol remains committed to sustaining this momentum through intelligence-led operations, continuous surveillance, and proactive community engagement, aiming to identify and neutralize illegal drug activities before they escalate,” Babagay said. (PNA)
