Bicol cops seize P5-M worth of illegal drugs, nab 37 suspects

The Police Regional Office in Bicol (PRO-5) confiscated more than P5 million worth of illegal drugs and arrested 37 individuals from February 17 to 23 operations in the six provinces and one component city in the region.

In a report on Monday, PRO-5 director, Brig. Gen. Andrei Dizon, said a total of 33 operations during the period resulted in the confiscation of 745.02 grams of shabu and 3.97 grams of marijuana.

Among the provinces and cities, the highest volume of confiscation was recorded in Naga City with P3,515,720; followed by Camarines Sur with P629,734.40; Albay with P382,221.20; Masbate with P319,772.80; Camarines Norte with P106,284; Catanduanes with P102,680; and Sorsogon with P10,200.

Dizon commended the operating teams in the fight against illegal drugs.

“Their dedication to duty is a testament to our commitment to maintaining peace and order in the Bicol region. We urge the public to remain vigilant and support our campaign by reporting any suspicious drug-related activities. Together, we can create a safer and drug-free community,” he said. (PNA)
