BI enforces hold departure order vs Romualdez, Co, 2 others

The Bureau of Immigration said Thursday it is implementing the hold departure order issued by the Sandiganbayan against former House Speaker Martin Romualdez, Felicito Cristobal Guevarra, former lawmaker Elizaldy “Zaldy” Co and Joselyn Serenio.

The BI said Romualdez and Guevarra are still in the Philippines, while Co and Serenio had already left the country before the HDO was issued.

The bureau said it will continue to strictly enforce the court order and take appropriate immigration measures within its mandate.

It added that specific travel details and other personal information cannot be disclosed because of the Data Privacy Act of 2012 and other applicable laws.

The Sandiganbayan issued the hold departure order on Sept. 7, 2026.
