Baldwin appears at CIDG over Ateneo drownings

Former Ateneo men’s basketball head coach Tab Baldwin appeared Friday at the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group headquarters in Camp Crame, Quezon City.

Baldwin arrived shortly before 8:30 a.m.

His appearance was connected to the CIDG investigation into the deaths of Ateneo players Rene Baterbonia and Divine Adili.

The two players died earlier this month during a reported training activity along the shoreline of Dipaculao, Aurora.

Baldwin and his camp did not issue any statement to reporters.

Members of the media were also not allowed to approach the CIDG headquarters.

The CIDG had earlier subpoenaed Baldwin on Monday, but only his legal counsel appeared, prompting investigators to issue a second subpoena.

Baldwin previously apologized for the deaths of Baterbonia and Adili in a video posted by Ateneo four days after the incident. Ateneo later announced his resignation following the tragedy.
