DUMAGUETE CITY – WrkPod, an Australian firm headquartered in this capital city, continued its expansion across the Visayas as it aims to hit 10,000 jobs for virtual assistants by 2028.

Dale Beaumont, cofounder of WrkPod and Chief Executive Officer of Business Blueprint, told the Philippine News Agency in an interview on Friday that the latest sites are in Bacolod City, Negros Occidental and Iloilo.

WrkPod has three sites in Negros Oriental (two in the capital) and one in Tanjay City), and another one in Cebu.

“We set a very ambitious goal and 10,000 (seats) is a huge number, but we are working towards it, and we have 1,350 virtual assistants as of now,” Beaumont said.

“And we’re growing at least 70 to 80 new hires at the moment,” he added.

Beaumont said finding enough space to accommodate more virtual assistants is a “challenge” for WrkPod, so they want to ensure they have sufficient facilities as they continue their expansion.

WrkPod held a two-day conference on Wednesday and Thursday for virtual assistants and some clients who flew in from other countries, such as Australia and New Zealand.

The conference included a lecture series and a venue for business employers to meet with their virtual assistants from WrkPod.

Another activity that WrkPod incorporated into its health and wellness program was the WrkPod Pickleball Championship 2026.

This will be held on Friday and Saturday with appearances from international stars, Wally Green, an elite pickleball player from New York in the United States, and Harrison Brown, a pickleball champion from Australia.

Local pickleball players will have the opportunity to play against the international players while exhibition matches will also be featured on these days. (PNA)
