Comedian Ate Gay has spoken candidly about the people who stood by him during one of the hardest chapters of his life, revealing that Heart Evangelista has been among those helping him financially as he continues his battle with cancer.

In Tuesday’s episode of Fast Talk with Boy Abunda, Ate Gay described Heart as one of the kindest blessings he has received, sharing that the actress and fashion icon has been helping shoulder his day-to-day needs.

“Napakabuti ni Heart,” Ate Gay said, as he looked back on how long he has known of her, even from his younger years while working at Singing Cooks and Waiters. He spoke warmly of Heart, saying her generosity has been a source of comfort and relief during his illness.

According to Ate Gay, it was Heart’s personal assistant who first reached out through Allan K’s manager after news of his condition became public. Since then, he said Heart has been extending regular financial help and even offered to bring him to Singapore for treatment.

For Ate Gay, that level of compassion is something he considers a gift from God.

He also expressed deep gratitude to Chaye Cabal-Revilla, whom he credited for covering the cost of his hospitalization and medicines at Asian Hospital. Ate Gay revealed that even his costly immunotherapy sessions were taken care of, underscoring just how overwhelming the medical expenses have been.

He shared that each immunotherapy session costs P346,000, with a total of 12 sessions required as part of his treatment.

Aside from Heart and Cabal-Revilla, Ate Gay said several other well-known personalities stepped in to help, including Coco Martin, Jolo Revilla, Mark Lapid, Lito Lapid, and Allan K, who continues to give him work in comedy bars.

What moved him most, he said, was that many of them came forward without being asked.

Ate Gay first disclosed in September 2025 that he had been diagnosed with Stage 4 cancer. Since then, support has poured in from different corners. He previously shared that an anonymous donor helped pay for his radiation treatment at Asian Hospital, while a fan lent him a nearby condominium unit to make treatment more manageable.

After just six days of treatment, Ate Gay said the lump on his neck had already noticeably shrunk. He later revealed that his treatment involved 35 days of radiation and chemotherapy five times a week. By November, he announced that he had already completed both radiation and chemotherapy.

He is now continuing with immunotherapy every 21 days, with 12 sessions prescribed in total.

Through it all, Ate Gay’s story has become not just one of illness and recovery, but also of generosity, friendship, and the unexpected kindness that arrives in moments of greatest need.
