Building on a record year of growth and expansion, Asialink Finance Corporation’s strong performance earns additional backing through the Asian Development Bank, bringing its total credit facility to $165 million to support MSMEs nationwide in 2026.
Asialink Finance Corporation (AFC) is closing 2025 on a high note, capping a year of steady growth, nationwide expansion, and product innovation with a major vote of confidence from the Asian Development Bank and its co-funders.
The non-bank financial institution ended the year with a 6 percent increase in loan disbursements, reaching ₱16.6 billion across its portfolio, and secured an additional $50 million in funding that lifts its total ADB-led credit facility to $165 million—resources that will be channeled toward empowering more micro, small, and medium enterprises in 2026.
The fresh funding reflects growing trust in AFC’s consistent focus on MSMEs, particularly those outside major urban centers. With the expanded facility in place, the company enters the new year with greater capacity to extend financing to entrepreneurs who remain underserved by traditional banking, reinforcing its role as one of the country’s leading non-bank financial institutions.
“2025 has been a monumental year for Asialink,” said Samuel Cariño, President and CEO of Asialink Finance Corporation. “From expanding our reach nationwide to introducing products that respond to the real needs of our communities, every milestone reflects our commitment to help Filipinos grow their livelihoods and achieve their aspirations.”
That commitment was evident in AFC’s rapid physical expansion. By December 2025, the company had surpassed 250 operating branches across Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao, serving more than 19,000 MSMEs nationwide. The milestone underscores its strategy of bringing financing closer to self-employed individuals and small business owners, particularly in areas often overlooked by larger financial players.
AFC also strengthened its global and institutional ties during the year through partnerships with organizations such as the International Finance Corporation, Mega International Commercial Bank, and Standard Chartered Bank.
These collaborations have expanded the company’s access to capital, enhanced its risk and governance frameworks, and supported the development of more inclusive and sustainable lending solutions.
Industry recognition followed. In 2025, AFC earned multiple honors from the International Finance Awards and the Asian Banking & Finance Awards, highlighting its fast growth, accessibility, customer convenience, and impact in financial inclusion.
The accolades reinforced its standing as a key player in the Philippine lending sector at a time when MSMEs remain critical to job creation and economic resilience.
One of the year’s most notable developments was the launch of the Women’s Access to Inclusive Support Loan, or WAIS Loan, introduced during AFC’s 28th anniversary. Designed specifically for women entrepreneurs, the product emphasizes flexibility, speed, and practical support.
Since its rollout in July, more than 2,600 women-led MSMEs have already accessed financing through WAIS, pointing to strong demand and its potential to become one of the company’s flagship offerings.
The campaign was further amplified by the appointment of Jolina Magdangal as brand ambassador, helping bring visibility to the financing challenges faced by Filipina entrepreneurs and reinforcing AFC’s push to narrow the gender financing gap.
Looking ahead, AFC plans to further diversify its loan products and expand its branch network to nearly 300 locations by the end of 2026.
The additional $50 million from the ADB-led facility is expected to play a crucial role in scaling these efforts, enabling the company to support more MSMEs as engines of growth, employment, and inclusive development.
With stronger institutional backing, a wider national footprint, and a clear focus on underserved entrepreneurs, Asialink enters 2026 positioned to deepen its impact and continue delivering accessible, empowering financial solutions for Filipino businesses nationwide.
