Netflix has unveiled the first official image from the highly anticipated Philippine adaptation of It’s Okay to Not Be Okay, starring Anne Curtis and Joshua Garcia. The emotionally driven series is set to premiere globally on July 18, marking Curtis’ major return to television alongside one of the generation’s most sought-after actors.

In the released teaser image, Garcia—playing the role of Patrick Gonzales—is captured in an intense gaze toward Curtis’ character, Emilia Hernandez, hinting at the emotional complexities that lie ahead. The adaptation follows Emilia, a reclusive and emotionally scarred author, whose life begins to shift when she meets Patrick, a compassionate stranger with his own burdens. Their encounter sets off a journey of healing, connection, and emotional awakening.

Also joining the cast is Carlo Aquino as Mathew Gonzales, Patrick’s protective older brother, adding depth and tension to the family dynamic within the story. The series is directed by acclaimed filmmaker Mae Cruz-Alviar and produced by Star Creatives in partnership with ABS-CBN.

Adapted from the popular South Korean drama of the same name, the Filipino version promises to bring a fresh cultural perspective while staying true to the original’s themes of mental health, trauma, and love. With Netflix backing its global release, the series is poised to bring Filipino storytelling to a wider international audience.
