The state weather bureau said the Northeast Monsoon, locally known as amihan, continues to affect Northern and Central Luzon, while easterlies are influencing the rest of the country as of Wednesday.

In its latest bulletin, it showed that Metro Manila and most parts of Luzon may experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains due to the prevailing amihan, with no significant weather impacts expected.

It noted that the monsoon is also bringing moderate to strong winds over the northern and eastern sections of Luzon, resulting in moderate to rough coastal waters.

Meanwhile, easterlies are causing cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms over the Visayas, Palawan, and the rest of the Bicol Region, Pagasa said. weather dec 31

Camarines Norte, Camarines Sur, and Catanduanes may see scattered rains and isolated thunderstorms due to a shear line, with possible flash floods or landslides from moderate to heavy rainfall.

Mindanao and the rest of Mimaropa will likely experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms caused by easterlies.

The weather bureau warned that localized flooding or landslides remain possible in affected areas during severe thunderstorms.

Light to moderate winds and slight to moderate seas are expected over most other coastal waters nationwide, Pagasa added.

Temperature extremes recorded at the Science Garden station in Quezon City showed a high of 31.2 degrees Celsius and a low of 23.5 degrees Celsius over the past 24 hours.
