The northeast monsoon, or amihan, is currently impacting the northernmost regions of Luzon, while the Intertropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ) is set to bring rainfall to Mindanao this Sunday, according to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA).
Batanes and Cagayan will experience cloudy skies with rain brought on by the monsoon. Moderate to heavy rainfall could lead to flash floods or landslides in these areas.
In Mindanao, Caraga and the Davao Region will see cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms due to the ITCZ, which could also result in flash floods or landslides from moderate to heavy rainfall, PAGASA said.
Other parts of Mindanao are likely to have partly cloudy to cloudy skies, with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms. Severe thunderstorms may cause flash floods or landslides.
Meanwhile, the National Capital Region and the rest of the country will be partly cloudy to cloudy, with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms, also due to localized thunderstorms, which could trigger flash floods or landslides during intense storms.
In terms of sea conditions, the waters off Extreme Northern Luzon will be rough, while other areas in Northern Luzon will experience moderate seas. The remaining parts of the country will have slight to moderate coastal waters.
