For families rebuilding after the earthquake in Mindanao, recovery continues long after the headlines fade. It means finding ways to put nutritious food on the table, care for a newborn, and restore the routines that make daily life feel secure.

Moved by the challenges these families continue to face, employees of Allianz PNB Life (Allianz) turned their concern into a voluntary fundraising drive. The company matched their contributions, bringing the total donation to ₱350,000 to support mothers, young children, and other earthquake-affected families.

The funds will be coursed through the Philippine Disaster Resilience Foundation (PDRF) for its Child and Maternal Support Program in selected communities in Sarangani Province and General Santos City.

Through emergency nutrition assistance, newborn care packages, and hygiene and sanitation kits, the program will help address essential needs during recovery. Priority beneficiaries include children under five, lactating mothers and their newborns, and other families still coping with the disaster’s effects.

“Behind every recovery effort are families doing their best to rebuild their lives one day at a time. The support from Allianz PNB Life employees and the company’s matching contribution will help provide essential care for mothers, newborns, and young children in communities still recovering from the earthquake. We are deeply grateful for this partnership, which shows how collective action can bring comfort, hope, and practical assistance to those who need it most,” said Rene “Butch” Meily, President of PDRF.

For the employees who contributed, the initiative was a way to reach families whose struggles remain urgent, even from a distance.

Ryanne Balintec, IT Portfolio and Business Relationship Manager, said the drive offered a simple but meaningful way to remind affected communities that they had not been forgotten.

“The earthquake may no longer be in the headlines every day, but we know that many families are still rebuilding their lives. We wanted to do our part, however small, to help them get back on their feet and move forward.”

That shared willingness to help also resonated with Pionna Arenas, Service Excellence Lead, who saw the initiative as a reminder of what individual contributions can accomplish together.

“What moved me was seeing colleagues willingly come together to help people we may never personally meet. Individually, our contributions may seem small, but together, they can help a family take another step toward rebuilding.”

Allianz’s matching contribution extended the reach of that generosity. PDRF will coordinate with local government units and communities to deliver the assistance where it is needed.

“At Allianz, creating security and peace of mind goes beyond the protection we provide through our products. It is also about standing with communities during difficult moments and helping families regain a sense of stability as they recover and rebuild,” said Rozanne Magararu, Chief Marketing Officer of Allianz PNB Life.

“We are grateful to our employees for coming together to support families facing difficult circumstances and to our partners at PDRF for delivering much-needed assistance on the ground,” she added.

The initiative brings Allianz’s purpose of securing the future into the everyday realities of disaster recovery. For a mother caring for her newborn or a family trying to meet a young child’s nutritional needs, practical support can ease immediate pressures as they work toward stability.

Rebuilding takes time. Through their collective generosity, Allianz employees are helping families take the next step—with essential care, renewed encouragement, and the reassurance that others continue to stand beside them.
