Filipina tennis sensation Alex Eala has once again surged upward in the Women’s Tennis Association (WTA) rankings, climbing to World No. 57 in the latest standings released ahead of the upcoming Jingshan Tennis Open.
The 19-year-old’s steady rise marks another milestone in her young career. Eala previously reached a career-high of No. 56 last June following a runner-up finish at the WTA 250 Eastbourne Open in Great Britain—a breakthrough performance that cemented her place among the sport’s rising stars.
Eala is now preparing to compete in the WTA 125 Jingshan Tennis Open, scheduled from September 22 to 28. A strong showing at the tournament could propel her back to or even beyond her career-best ranking.
Her competitive calendar remains packed after Jingshan, as she is also slated to participate in the Suzhou Open from September 29 to October 5, keeping her momentum alive during this crucial stretch of the tennis season.
With her continued ascent, Eala is inching closer to breaking into the sport’s elite tier—a feat that would mark another proud moment for Philippine tennis.
