Alessandra De Rossi on confidence, cosmetic curiosity, and reinventing herself at 50

Veteran actress Alessandra De Rossi has never been one to tiptoe around conversations others find uncomfortable. In a recent appearance on the online talk show Your Honor, the acclaimed performer opened up about self-image, insecurities, and the freedom that comes with truly owning who you are—at any age.

Asked whether she ever feels insecure about her looks, Alessandra answered with refreshing bluntness. Envy, she said, has never been part of her vocabulary.

Like everyone else, she admits to noticing flaws in herself, but she chooses not to dwell on them or put them on display for public scrutiny. What matters more to her is self-esteem—something she believes must be actively built and fiercely protected.

In an industry often criticized for manufactured perfection, Alessandra didn’t mince words. She pointed out that while many faces may appear flawless, not everything seen on screen is natural. For her, the real challenge isn’t having insecurities—it’s being trapped by them.

If changing something about your appearance brings peace, she believes that’s a personal choice. But if insecurity persists even after cosmetic fixes, then the issue runs deeper.

Still, Alessandra isn’t closing the door on aesthetic enhancements altogether. With her trademark humor and candor, she shared that she has plans—just not now.

Turning 50, she joked, might be the milestone when she finally treats herself to cosmetic procedures she has long postponed. After decades of staying natural, she sees it less as insecurity and more as a reward earned through time, work, and self-acceptance.

Her playful imagination didn’t stop there. Alessandra teased the idea of reinventing herself entirely in the future, even floating a new name—Samantha Washington—as a tongue-in-cheek symbol of personal reinvention. For her, aging isn’t something to fear; it’s an open invitation to experiment, evolve, and laugh at oneself along the way.

As if to remind fans that her creative fire is very much alive, Alessandra also hinted that a new film project is in the works. Details remain under wraps, but one thing is certain: whether she’s talking about beauty standards, aging, or art, Alessandra De Rossi continues to stand out by staying unapologetically real.
