The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) on Wednesday reported that Tropical Depression Ada has weakened into a low-pressure area, while another LPA has developed outside the Philippine area of responsibility.

In its 2 p.m. advisory, Pagasa said Ada, internationally known as Nokaen, had lost strength and was downgraded earlier in the afternoon.

The weakened weather disturbance was last located about 1,270 kilometers east of Central Luzon and remains within the country’s monitoring zone.

Pagasa said the system is unlikely to redevelop into a tropical depression within the next 24 hours.

Weather forecasters also monitored a separate low-pressure area outside the PAR, positioned roughly 2,225 kilometers east of southeastern Mindanao.

This second LPA is likewise not expected to intensify over the next day, Pagasa said.

Earlier, the weather bureau projected that four to 11 tropical cyclones may affect the Philippines from February to July 2026, when storm activity typically increases.
