Aboitiz Foods turned over new sustainable energy systems and high-speed satellite internet to five remote public elementary schools in Barangay Rogongon under the AuroraPH program.
The initiative reflects cross-business collaboration within the Aboitiz Group, led by Aboitiz Foundation and supported by Aboitiz Foods and Aboitiz Power.
Katipunan, Binasan, Salingsing, and Libandayan Elementary Schools received 5 kWp solar power systems and Starlink internet connectivity.
Kianibong Elementary School was provided with Starlink-powered internet connectivity to enhance digital learning.
AuroraPH addresses long-standing electricity and internet challenges in off-grid schools while promoting sustainable and future-ready learning environments.
Engr. Alexis Revantad of Aboitiz Foods said, “Students can research, explore, and imagine futures they may not have thought possible. Teachers gain resources that help them teach with confidence and creativity.”
The ceremonial turnover on December 12 included Aboitiz Foundation’s Jowelle Ann Cruz, DepEd’s Engr. Lyndon Inding, school heads, faculty, students, and community members.
Classrooms now have electric fans, better ventilation, and in Libandayan Elementary, solar panels power a refrigerator for the feeding program.
AuroraPH has reached 44 last-mile schools since 2024 and aims to connect at least 300 schools still without electricity or internet.
Cruz said, “AuroraPH is more than a program—it is a promise. A promise to illuminate the path toward a brighter future for students and teachers.”
