About 870 kindergarten pupils in Marikina City on Thursday received Christmas gifts from President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. and First Lady Liza Araneta-Marcos.
Senate Minority Leader Aquilino Pimentel III and his wife, Special Envoy to the United Arab Emirates for Trade and Investment Ma. Anna Kathryna Pimentel, led the distribution of the gifts at the covered court in Barangay Kalumpang.
The Pimentel couple thanked the President and the First Lady for the gifts, which included bags containing school supplies.
Aside from the gifts from the First Couple, the Pimentel couple also gave 5 kilograms of rice to each beneficiary.
Meanwhile, the special envoy announced that the beneficiaries would also receive P2,000 each during the payout in Sampaguita Village in Barangay Malanday on December 23.
Andel Bocatcat, 36, of Barangay Malanday, a single mom of a five-year-old girl, thanked Marcos for the Christmas gifts.
JayAr Torres, a father of a five-year-old child and a resident of Barangay Sto. Niño, said these gifts from the President will go a long way. “Maraming maraming salamat sa nakuha namin tulong galing kay President Marcos. Malaking bagay yun para sa Noche Buena ng pamilya ko,” he said.
Moreover, Criselda Ubusan, a resident of Barangay Malanday, said the P2,000 cash aid would be a great help in providing for her children’s needs. (PNA)
