MALASIQUI, Pangasinan – A total of 55,910 qualified household recipients will benefit from the second tranche of the ongoing payout under the Department of Social Welfare and Development’s (DSWD) Unified Package for Livelihoods, Industry, Food, and Transport (UPLIFT) assistance in the Ilocos Region.
Of the total beneficiaries, 46,126 are in Pangasinan, 5,309 in Ilocos Sur, 4,394 in La Union and 81 in Ilocos Norte, according to data from the DSWD Ilocos Region Field Office (FO1).
DSWD-FO1 information officer Kristine Sheila Amoroso said in an interview on Tuesday that some beneficiaries in the second tranche are replacements for those in the first tranche who failed to claim the assistance despite several communications from the agency.
“The payout would still be manual, in person, to give more time to beneficiaries who have no bank account or have no phones or are not able to register to the online system,” she said.
The beneficiaries are part of Group 2, the indigent and near-poor, according to the 2024 Community-Based Monitoring System of the Philippine Statistics Authority and the Department of Economy, Planning and Development.
Each household will receive PHP2,000 in the ongoing payout, which began on Sept. 14 per city or town, depending on the set schedule.
In Pangasinan, the capital town of Lingayen was the first to be served.
On Tuesday, the UPLIFT program served beneficiaries in Labrador.
