Fifty out of 128 barangays in Baguio City have been awarded the Seal of Good Local Governance for Barangays (SGLGB) for upholding transparency, accountability, and quality public service.
Mayor Benjamin Magalong said the recognition reflects the barangay officials’ dedication to good governance and their commitment to the city’s development goals.
“It shows the initiatives of barangay officials to serve their constituents well. It shows that they too support the city’s good governance thrust,” Magalong said, congratulating the awardees for inspiring integrity and progress in their communities.
The SGLGB honors barangays that excel in financial administration, disaster preparedness, social protection, peace and order, environmental management, and business competitiveness.
The awards were given during the Regional Celebration of the 34th Local Government Month on Oct. 24 in Baguio City.
Some of the recognized barangays include Aurora Hill Proper, Camp 7, Dominican Hill-Mirador, Fort Del Pilar, Kias, Loakan Proper, MRR-Queen of Peace, Santo Tomas Proper, and Trancoville, among others.
