A total of 370 families in T’boli, South Cotabato, received financial assistance from the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) after losing their homes in the magnitude 7.8 earthquake that struck on June 8, 2026.

Each beneficiary received Php 20,700 under the second tranche of the UPLIFT Assistance Emergency Cash Transfer (ECT) program, implemented by DSWD Field Office 12.

The assistance amounted to Php 7.659 million and was intended to help displaced families meet their basic needs and recover from the damage caused by the earthquake.

According to the DSWD, the financial support forms part of the government’s continuing relief and recovery efforts for communities affected by the disaster.

The cash assistance is designed to provide immediate financial relief to families whose homes were destroyed, allowing them to purchase essential supplies and address urgent household needs.

The distribution was carried out in line with the directive of President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. to ensure continued government assistance for disaster-affected communities.

The DSWD reaffirmed its commitment to supporting affected residents through recovery programs and financial assistance aimed at helping families rebuild their lives.

The agency also emphasized the importance of sustained support for communities recovering from natural disasters, particularly households that remain vulnerable due to the loss of their homes and livelihoods.
