End-to-end multimodal transportation and logistics provider 2GO, has joined forces with the Electric Vehicle Association of the Philippines (EVAP) to champion electric mobility and promote sustainable transport solutions nationwide.
As a major player in sea freight logistics, 2GO already offers a greener alternative for long-haul cargo transport, helping to reduce carbon emissions. Now, the company is taking its sustainability efforts further by outfitting its vessels with electric vehicle (EV) charging capabilities. Two of its ships—MV 2GO Masikap and MV 2GO Masinag—have been retrofitted to accommodate EV transport, with more vessels set to follow.
This move makes 2GO one of the few logistics companies in the Philippines to integrate EV charging infrastructure into its maritime operations. These upgraded vessels operate on key shipping routes including Manila–Davao–General Santos–Iloilo and Manila–Cebu–Manila, playing a critical role in the nationwide distribution of electric vehicles.
“We’re proud to be EVAP’s official logistics partner in advancing green transportation,” said Faye Alonzo, Head of 2GO’s Forwarding Business Unit. “Our reliable services ensure that EVs are delivered safely and efficiently, especially to high-demand areas like Cebu and Davao.”
EVAP, a non-profit advocating for the adoption of battery electric vehicles, emphasized the significance of the partnership in increasing EV accessibility across the country.
“Adopting electric vehicles is vital to reducing greenhouse gas emissions, particularly in densely populated areas such as Metro Manila, Cebu, and Davao,” said Edmund Araga, President of EVAP. “Partnering with 2GO ensures we have a dependable logistics backbone to support the growing EV ecosystem.”
As of April 2025, Metro Manila has more than 74 EV charging stations across 18 locations, with expansion plans targeting nearly 100 by the end of the year.
2GO continues to operate on consistent schedules, with four weekly sailings between Manila and Cebu, and twice-weekly trips to Davao and General Santos—providing dependable logistics solutions for businesses across the archipelago.
