DAET, Camarines Norte – Police arrested two individuals in separate operations against the alleged sale and distribution of illicit tobacco products in Camarines Norte, Police Regional Office 5 (PRO-5) reported.
The operations were conducted by personnel of the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) Camarines Norte as part of PRO-5’s continuing campaign against tobacco products that allegedly fail to comply with government regulatory requirements.
Authorities recovered assorted tobacco products and other pieces of evidence during the operations.
PRO-5 Regional Director PBGen. Randy Glenn Silvio said police would continue coordinating with partner agencies and other stakeholders to strengthen enforcement against illicit tobacco products.
“We will continue to strengthen our campaign against illicit tobacco products in close coordination with our partner agencies and stakeholders,” Silvio said.
He stressed that the campaign is aimed not only at enforcing the law but also at protecting consumers from products that allegedly do not comply with health and regulatory standards.
“Our efforts are not only focused on law enforcement but also on protecting the public from products that do not comply with health and regulatory requirements,” Silvio said.
The PRO-5 chief said authorities would remain committed to enforcing regulations and protecting the welfare of communities across the Bicol Region.
