BUTUAN CITY – The Department of Social Welfare and Development in Caraga has released Php 3.6 million in livelihood assistance to 12 Payapa at Masaganang Pamayanan Livelihood Program Associations from eight barangays in Butuan City.
Each association received Php 300,000 to establish enterprises such as consumer stores, rice trading, chicken egg production, and agricultural and veterinary supply businesses.
DSWD-Caraga Assistant Regional Director for Operations Jean Paul Parajes said the grants are intended to help communities build sustainable enterprises while supporting peace and development efforts.
The beneficiaries also signed a pledge of commitment to manage the assistance responsibly, sustain their enterprises and strengthen their organizations.
The turnover ceremony was held at Kalayaan Hall inside the headquarters of the Army’s 402nd Infantry Brigade in Bancasi, Butuan City.
Officials and representatives from the Office of the Presidential Adviser on Peace, Reconciliation and Unity, the 402nd Infantry Brigade and the 23rd Infantry Battalion witnessed the activity.
