The YGG Play Summit is set to host one of Asia’s most exciting trading card game (TCG) events of the year — the Vibes Asian Championship, happening on November 21–22 in Manila. Featuring a $20,000 (approximately P1.1 million) prize pool, the championship will bring together elite competitors and rising stars from across the region in a tournament that’s open to the public. Registration is limited to 128 players, with parental consent required for minors.

A celebration of strategy and community
Developed by Orange Cap Games, Vibes is a hybrid digital and physical TCG that blends competitive depth with the warmth and humor of the Pudgy Penguins brand. Players build “huddles” of penguin characters, action cards, and relics to outwit opponents in matches that reward creativity, strategy, and adaptability.

“We have the biggest tournaments and the world’s best competitors coming to the Philippines this November,” said Mike Ovecka, Head of YGG Esports and former Hearthstone esports lead at Blizzard Entertainment. “We envision the YGG Play Summit as the beating heart of competitive Web3 gaming, and hosting the Vibes Asian Championship marks a major step in making that vision a reality.”

Tournament format and fair play
The championship will follow a Swiss +1 qualifying format, with the top eight advancing to the single-elimination finals. Players who place within the top 32 will also receive cash prizes from the total pool.

The competition will be overseen by Sashi Balakrishnan, a Level 3 Magic: The Gathering judge from Malaysia, ensuring international standards of officiating and fair play.

To promote inclusivity and encourage participation from both veteran and new players, the tournament will allow up to 12 proxy cards per deck—giving everyone a fair chance to compete even without owning rare or high-cost cards.

Learn, play and connect
In the weeks leading up to the summit, YGG Pilipinas is rolling out Learn-to-Play Vibes sessions and community tournaments across key cities. These beginner-friendly events will help new players get hands-on experience with the game, with support from Metaversity Marshals and complimentary starter decks.
