ADEN, YEMEN — Yemen’s Information Ministry on Sunday, October 25, accused the Houthi group of launching three ballistic missiles toward a camp housing displaced civilians west of Aden, the country’s interim capital.

The ministry identified the alleged target as a displacement camp in Ras Imran but did not provide details on possible casualties or damage.

Earlier, local sources reported that a ballistic missile allegedly fired by the Houthis exploded near a government military facility in western Aden.

According to the sources, the missile landed in an uninhabited sandy area behind an iron factory in Bir Ahmed, located in Al-Buraiqa district.

No casualties or property damage were reported from that incident.

The latest allegations followed a series of missile attacks in Aden over the weekend.

On Saturday, Yemen’s Interior Ministry accused the Houthis of launching three ballistic missiles at two coast guard facilities in the city.

The Houthi group acknowledged carrying out attacks against two military installations in Aden.

Residents reportedly heard three powerful explosions across the city Saturday afternoon, although authorities did not immediately release casualty or damage figures.

Yemen’s Information Ministry also accused the Houthis of targeting Aden International Airport and the port in Al-Tawahi district.

Transport Minister Mohsen Ali Haidara said the airport had been targeted by the Houthis for the fourth consecutive time.

The Interior Ministry condemned the attacks, saying they followed repeated missile and drone strikes against civilian facilities and critical infrastructure, including Aden’s airport.

Yemen has experienced years of armed conflict since the Houthis seized control of Sanaa and several other provinces in 2014.

A Saudi-led military coalition intervened in 2015 to support the internationally recognized Yemeni government.

The Houthis currently control much of northern and western Yemen, including Sanaa, while government forces and their allies maintain control over Aden and significant areas in the south and east.

Renewed fighting has affected several front lines, particularly along the Red Sea coast, where control of some territories remains contested.
