White Plains Avenue in Quezon City will be closed to traffic on Sunday, November 30, as preparations intensify for the Trillion Peso March, a large anti-corruption rally expected to draw thousands from across Metro Manila.
City authorities announced that the avenue will be fully closed starting 6:00 a.m., with traffic adjustments rolling out the night before to manage the expected congestion. A zipper lane will be activated along the stretch of White Plains from EDSA to Katipunan Avenue beginning 9:00 p.m. on November 29 until 6:00 a.m. the following morning.
The Quezon City government urged motorists to plan ahead, warning that major surrounding roads—including EDSA, Katipunan Avenue, Ortigas Avenue, and Temple Drive—will likely experience heavy traffic throughout the day due to the influx of protesters and support vehicles converging near the People Power Monument.
Motorists are advised to take alternative routes as early as possible to avoid bottlenecks and potential gridlocks in the rally zone.
To accommodate the large turnout, designated parking zones have been identified for participants. Light vehicles may use Temple Drive extending to Giraffe Street; buses may park on one side of B. Serrano Avenue eastbound; additional parking for both buses and smaller vehicles will be available along 18th and 20th Avenues.
Meanwhile, the stretch of EDSA from the People Power Monument to Camp Aguinaldo Gate 3 will serve as a staging and parking area for support groups and volunteer forces.
City officials said teams from the Quezon City local government, the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority, and the Quezon City Police District will be deployed to manage traffic flow, secure the area, and assist participants throughout the event.
The Trillion Peso March marks one of the largest planned public demonstrations in recent years, fueled by widespread calls for accountability and transparency in government spending. Organizers are preparing for a sustained program throughout the morning, with crowds expected to arrive well before sunrise.
