MANILA – A website address presented online as belonging to Cale88 Foods Corporation, a company previously associated with lawyer Manases “Mans” Carpio, was found redirecting users to the official website of the Chinese Embassy in the Philippines.
However, available domain data raises questions about whether the redirect has any connection to Cale88 itself. An automated domain check showed that cale88foods.com was newly registered on Oct. 3, 2026 and was configured to redirect to the Chinese Embassy website. The domain’s registrant information was withheld. Gridinsoft LLC
This means the redirect alone does not establish that Cale88 or Carpio created or controlled the current domain configuration.
Cale88 has figured in the ongoing impeachment proceedings against Vice President Sara Duterte. During testimony based on Securities and Exchange Commission records, Carpio was identified as president of Cale88 in 2022 and his ownership interest was reported to have increased from 40 percent to 47.5 percent by 2024. Records presented during the proceedings showed that he was no longer a director or stockholder in 2025. Tordecilla
The company has also drawn attention following allegations involving financial transactions from China. House lead prosecutor Gerville Luistro said summaries submitted by the Anti-Money Laundering Council included remittances to Cale88 from China and other foreign countries. saksipinas
Former senator Antonio Trillanes IV separately alleged that around P319 million flowed to Cale88 from China-based sources. The camp of Vice President Duterte has rejected allegations presented by Trillanes as “malicious fabrications.” Bombo Radyo News
The identity of whoever registered the current cale88foods.com domain and configured the redirect has not been established by the available records.
