In celebration of Earth Day, Watsons — the flagship health and beauty retailer of AS Watson — is proud to announce an expanded partnership with ClimatePartner, reinforcing its dedication to sustainability through a broadened carbon compensation initiative. With every purchase of select Watsons Sustainable Choice products, the company aims to offset over 4,000 tons of CO2 emissions.

Originally launched in 2023 with just seven product ranges, Watsons’ carbon compensation initiative now spans 30 product ranges, reflecting the growing consumer demand for more sustainable options. Available both online and in stores across Hong Kong, Malaysia, the Philippines, Taiwan, Thailand, Singapore, Vietnam, Indonesia, Turkey, and the GCC region, this expansion signals Watsons’ continued mission to inspire customers to “Choose Wisely, Live Sustainably.”

Beyond simply offering more eco-conscious products, Watsons is ensuring each purchase contributes to real-world environmental impact. Through its ongoing work with ClimatePartner, the company supports reforestation in Rimba Raya, Indonesia, and afforestation projects in Dingxi, Mainland China — a region struggling with desertification and soil erosion. These efforts include planting native, drought-resistant trees to restore degraded land and foster thriving ecosystems.

Making a local impact with global vision
Watsons’ initiatives go beyond environmental restoration. These projects also generate employment in tree planting and forest maintenance, with a focus on empowering women and supporting local communities. It’s a holistic approach that benefits both people and the planet.

The response from customers has been overwhelmingly positive. Laine Molina from the Philippines shared, “I love how Watsons makes recycling so easy and rewarding. Dropping off my empty bottles has become a habit — and the shopping vouchers are a great incentive!”

Nicole Espinase, also from the Philippines, added, “Choosing Sustainable Choices at Watsons is such a simple way to shop more mindfully without compromising on quality. It feels good to support a brand that truly cares about the environment.”

In the Philippines, Watsons further drives sustainability through its Go Green Living campaign, encouraging employee participation in environmental initiatives. These include planting over 5,800 trees during eco-tours and collecting more than 30 sacks of waste during international coastal cleanups — all aimed at protecting biodiversity and reducing marine pollution.

A shared commitment to sustainability
Watsons’ expanded carbon compensation program is more than just a corporate initiative — it’s an invitation for every customer to take part in climate action. By choosing Sustainable Choices products, shoppers help drive meaningful change, one purchase at a time.

This Earth Day marks another milestone in Watsons’ ongoing sustainability journey, encouraging everyone to Look Good. Do Good. Feel Great. Together, we can build a cleaner, greener future for generations to come.
