A planned Maynilad water service interruption will affect the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) Terminal 3 from 2 p.m. Friday until 6 a.m. Saturday, the airport’s operator said Thursday.
This is due to maintenance and repair activities at Maynilad’s Putatan Treatment Plant, the New NAIA Infra Corp. (NNIC) said.
Contingency measures are in place, it said, adding that the 3.2 million liters in Terminal 3’s water tanks will be utilized during the 16-hour period.
Maynilad will provide trucks as needed to replenish the tanks, while water trucks will be on standby to refill containers when necessary, it said.
The water containers will be placed in restrooms throughout the terminal, the NNIC said, reminding passengers to conserve water.
Last Oct. 24, a long queue of building attendants was seen at the NAIA Terminal 1 as they were fetching water from water tankers and a fire truck at the curb side.
The water interruption at Terminal 1 that began on Oct. 23 was caused by damage to the main water pipe.
Water tankers were also deployed at Terminal 1 to ensure steady supply.
This was already addressed and fixed by the operator, the Manila International Airport Authority reported on Wednesday. (PNA)
