The Marcos administration on Saturday unveiled the Bagong Pilipinas Youth (BPY), a national movement designed to empower young Filipinos to take a front seat in nation-building. The initiative will be chaired by presidential son Vinny Marcos and was launched in time for the celebration of Linggo ng Kabataan (National Youth Week) 2025.
The highlight of the event was the opening of the first-ever BPY Hub at the Bagong Pilipinas headquarters in Mandaluyong City—a space envisioned as a laboratory for youth ideas, collaboration, and leadership development.
The launch drew student leaders, Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) officers, youth advocates, and private sector partners, signaling a broad commitment to strengthening the national youth development agenda.
“BPY is more than just a youth organization—it’s a movement that encourages young Filipinos to lead, innovate, and shape the country’s future,” Vinny Marcos said, urging the youth to seize opportunities rather than wait for them.
The BPY Hub will host programs ranging from leadership academies and sports tournaments to voter registration drives, mental health caravans, and creative competitions like songwriting, film screenings, and spelling bees. Special attention will also be given to initiatives supporting out-of-school youth, anti-bullying campaigns, and environmental cleanups.
Marcos emphasized that BPY’s success hinges on multi-sectoral partnerships, calling on government agencies, schools, NGOs, and private companies to invest in young people. Several private partners have already pledged resources to fund programs that foster confidence, innovation, and solidarity among the youth.
The launch aligns with President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.’s broader vision of making the youth central to nation-building. The event closed with a call for unity, highlighting that the future of the Philippines rests on today’s young leaders.
