The United States warned its citizens on Saturday against traveling to Lebanon and northern Israel as regional tensions raised fears of further escalation.
The US Embassy in Beirut said the security situation across the Middle East remained volatile and could worsen without warning.
Americans were advised to avoid Lebanon because of the heightened risks linked to the continuing hostilities in the region.
The US Embassy in Jerusalem issued a separate alert covering Gaza, northern Israel and areas near the Egyptian border.
The advisory exempted the Taba crossing but urged travelers to reconsider other trips through the Middle East.
The warnings came as tensions remained high following renewed attacks involving the United States and Iran.
The two countries had earlier signed a Pakistan-brokered memorandum of understanding in June aimed at ending their conflict.
Despite the agreement, continued exchanges of attacks raised doubts over the durability of the peace effort.
