US Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer criticized President Donald Trump’s latest address to Congress, describing it as disconnected from the realities facing Americans.

Schumer said Trump spent nearly two hours praising his own achievements while failing to offer solutions to the nation’s challenges. He called the speech “state of delusion” and accused the former president of being isolated from ordinary Americans’ experiences.

The remarks followed Trump’s longest address to Congress, which ran about one hour and 47 minutes, in which he highlighted what he described as successes of his administration and declared that the US is “winning again.”

Schumer said he had never seen a State of the Union speech so disconnected from the country’s situation, noting that Trump focused on achievements of other Americans rather than addressing pressing national issues.

The Democratic leader also criticized Trump for downplaying the financial struggles that many households continue to face, saying the former president showed little understanding of economic realities for ordinary citizens.

Schumer further accused Trump of exaggerating economic gains and misrepresenting facts, arguing that the speech prioritized image over substance.

He said the address was largely self-congratulatory and lacked meaningful discussion of policies or solutions to ongoing problems.

Schumer concluded that the speech was full of rhetoric and promotion, rather than practical proposals to address the nation’s pressing challenges.
