Typhoon Tino kills 52, thousands affected Negros Occidental

At least 52 people have died in Negros Occidental due to Typhoon Tino, which struck the province on November 4, 2025, the Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (PDRRMO) reported.

La Castellana recorded the highest number of casualties with 10, followed by Moises Padilla with 9, and Hinigaran with 8. PDRRMO noted that these figures may change as verification with the Department of the Interior and Local Government continues.

Typhoon Tino affected 137,596 families, or 517,793 individuals, in the province. Among them, 23,887 families, or 77,590 people, sought shelter in evacuation centers.

Relief operations by the Provincial Government and the Department of Social Welfare and Development are ongoing to support affected residents.
