Two men accused of killing a security guard in Sta. Rosa City were captured in separate operations in Biñan after authorities tracked them to the same barangay, the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group said.
The first suspect, known by the alias “Ito,” was arrested in Barangay Tubigan at around 5:30 p.m. on Sept. 10. Police located his co-accused, alias “Mel,” in the same barangay at around 11:30 a.m. the following day.
Both men are facing a murder case stemming from the death of a male security guard in Barangay Pulong Sta. Cruz, Sta. Rosa City, on May 21.
A Sta. Rosa City court issued warrants for their arrest on Aug. 26. No bail was recommended for either accused.
According to the CIDG, the two had been classified as the No. 6 Regional Level Most Wanted Persons in Calabarzon before their arrest.
Personnel from the CIDG Laguna Provincial Field Unit conducted the operations with the Laguna Provincial Intelligence Team, Regional Intelligence Unit 4A and Sta. Rosa Component City Police Station.
The arrests completed authorities’ effort to account for the accused identified in the case, according to the CIDG.
The two remain accused of murder and will face proceedings before the court. Their arrest and inclusion on a most-wanted list do not constitute a finding of guilt.
