Two bettors from Metro Manila and Laguna will share the PHP38.5-million jackpot from Monday night’s MegaLotto 6/45 draw.
In an advisory released on Tuesday, the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) announced that the winners, hailing from Barangay Plainview in Mandaluyong City and San Pablo City in Laguna, correctly guessed the winning combination of 40-10-16-28-07-09.
The winners have one year to claim their prize of PHP38,521,162.80 at the PCSO main office in Mandaluyong City, which will be subject to a 20-percent tax. Under the Tax Reform for Acceleration and Inclusion (TRAIN) law, lotto winnings exceeding PHP10,000 are taxed at a rate of 20 percent.
In addition to the jackpot winners, 37 other bettors won PHP50,000 each for correctly guessing five out of the six winning digits. Furthermore, 1,858 bettors will receive PHP1,200 each for four correct digits, while 29,347 will get PHP50 each for three correct digits.
The MegaLotto 6/45 is drawn every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday.
PCSO General Manager Melquiades Robles encouraged the public to support the agency’s gaming products, which help generate additional revenue for health initiatives, medical services, and other national charities. He emphasized that through its mandatory contributions, the PCSO not only assists individuals in need of medical aid but also provides funding to government institutions.
