President-elect Donald Trump has named Susie Wiles, the manager of his successful campaign, as his White House chief of staff.
“Susie is tough, smart, innovative, and is universally admired and respected. Susie will continue to work tirelessly to Make America Great Again,” Trump said in a statement.
“It is a well deserved honor to have Susie as the first-ever female chief of staff in United States history. I have no doubt that she will make our country proud,” he added.
Wiles, a seasoned Florida-based Republican strategist, has been a central figure in Trump’s political operations since 2016. She managed Trump’s Florida campaigns in both 2016 and 2020 and played a key role in securing the state’s electoral votes.
Widely credited for orchestrating what was considered Trump’s most disciplined and well-executed campaign, Wiles is known for keeping the operation tightly organized while minimizing distractions.
Though often staying out of the limelight, Wiles has earned significant praise from Trump. On election night, Trump publicly acknowledged her efforts, but Wiles declined to speak at the victory celebration, opting to let co-campaign manager Chris LaCivita take the microphone instead.
The daughter of the late NFL broadcaster Pat Summerall, Wiles is one of Trump’s longest-serving advisers. Her long-standing loyalty and ability to stay out of the public eye have earned her admiration both within Trump’s inner circle and among his supporters.
