Tragic blaze in Quezon City kills eight

A devastating fire broke out in a rental home in Barangay San Isidro, Quezon City, during the early hours of Thursday morning, claiming the lives of eight people.

The Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) reported that three of the eight victims were minors, aged 2, 12, and 15.

The fire reached the first alarm at approximately 2:02 a.m.

A total of 24 fire trucks responded to the scene to extinguish the flames and search for any survivors.

The fire was put under control by 2:48 a.m., 46 minutes after the first alarm.

Rescue teams found two bodies on the first floor near the stairs. The identities of the victims have not yet been revealed.

The BFP estimated the damage from the fire at approximately P3,600,000.

The exact cause of the fire remains undetermined.

Authorities have not yet released information regarding the number of residents affected.
