Toyota Motor Philippines Corporation (TMP) is accelerating its sustainability drive with the official endorsement of Standard Insurance Co., Inc. as the country’s second recognized End-of-Life Vehicle (ELV) dismantling facility under the Toyota Global 100 Dismantlers Project.
Located in Naic, Cavite, the facility is housed within Standard Insurance’s expansive technical and training center. Spanning nearly 8,840 square meters, the facility handles the responsible dismantling of around 850 vehicles each year—primarily from its insured portfolio—with a capacity of up to six vehicles daily.
Backed by a P17.8 million investment, this private-sector-led initiative marks a significant stride in building a circular economy for the Philippine automotive industry. By dismantling old, non-roadworthy vehicles in a safe and sustainable way, the facility ensures that valuable parts are recovered, hazardous waste is properly managed, and the environmental footprint of vehicle disposal is minimized.
“This move reinforces our commitment to sustainability and carbon neutrality,” said TMP president Masando Hashimoto. “We are very grateful to Standard Insurance for stepping up voluntarily and giving Toyota customers peace of mind, knowing that even the end-of-life phase of their vehicles is handled responsibly.”

This endorsement places Standard Insurance as the fifth ELV dismantling partner in Southeast Asia under the Toyota Global 100 Dismantlers Project—a global effort to establish 100 certified ELV dismantling hubs across strategic markets. The project forms part of Toyota’s broader Environmental Challenge 2050, which aims to reduce the brand’s environmental impact through initiatives such as carbon reduction, recycling, and the promotion of a sustainable mobility ecosystem.
Standard Insurance joins En Tsumugi ELV Dismantler Corporation in Mexico, Pampanga, which was the first TMP-endorsed facility in the country in September 2024. Together, they strengthen the Philippines’ growing capacity for eco-conscious vehicle lifecycle management.
As more facilities come online, TMP and its partners are not only aligning with global sustainability benchmarks, but also contributing to local efforts in climate action, environmental protection, and the development of a true circular economy.
