Tim Ho Wan has added another milestone to its storied culinary journey, securing a Bib Gourmand distinction in the 2026 Michelin Guide Hong Kong & Macau for its Sham Shui Po branch and stretching its Michelin recognition to an impressive 17 consecutive years.
The achievement comes at a pivotal time for the Hong Kong-born dim sum brand, which is now deep into its first full year under the Jollibee Group following the acquisition in January 2025. Far from simply preserving the brand, the group has been sharpening its systems, investing in chef training, and reinforcing food quality standards to ensure Tim Ho Wan’s signature experience remains intact as it grows across markets.
Jollibee Group Global President and CEO Ernesto Tanmantiong said the latest recognition reflects the discipline and care behind the brand, as well as the company’s commitment to expanding Tim Ho Wan while honoring the heritage that made it a global standout.
From its beginnings as a modest 20-seat dim sum shop in Hong Kong in 2009, Tim Ho Wan quickly captured global attention after earning a Michelin star within its first year. Since opening in 2010, the Sham Shui Po outlet has remained a constant in the Michelin Guide, serving as the brand’s culinary anchor and proof of its staying power in one of the world’s most demanding food capitals.
That consistency is now being matched by stronger operational muscle. Under the Jollibee Group, Tim Ho Wan has been upgrading its kitchen systems, refining menu development, and tightening store operations to create a model that can be replicated internationally without losing the craftsmanship at the heart of the brand.
Tim Ho Wan CEO Sheng Lee said the goal is to protect what makes the brand special while ensuring customers around the world receive the same level of quality, service, and value that built its reputation in Hong Kong.
The brand’s momentum is also showing up in the numbers. System-wide sales jumped from Php1.3 billion in 2024 to Php8.1 billion in 2025, underscoring Tim Ho Wan’s rapidly expanding role within Jollibee Group’s global business. In Hong Kong, the brand has doubled its store count to 10 locations in about a year, with new branches posting strong profitability and attractive payback periods.
Outside its home market, Tim Ho Wan continues to gain ground in Singapore, China, and a growing roster of franchise territories including the Philippines, Vietnam, and Japan. It has also taken a major step in North America with the opening of its first company-operated store in Irvine, California, a move that signals growing confidence in the brand’s international appeal.
The latest Michelin recognition is not just another award for Tim Ho Wan. It is a strong signal that even as the brand scales globally, it continues to hold firm to the standards, authenticity, and value that first made it one of Hong Kong’s most celebrated dining names.
