The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) has completed the construction of a three-story public market in Dupax del Norte, Nueva Vizcaya, aimed at improving local trade and providing better facilities for vendors and consumers.
The project, implemented by the DPWH Nueva Vizcaya 2nd District Engineering Office, features designated vending spaces, spacious walkways, storage areas, electrical installations, and sanitation facilities.
According to the DPWH, the new market is designed to provide a safer, cleaner, and more organized environment for market vendors, small business owners, and residents.
The facility is also expected to stimulate economic activity by creating a more accessible commercial space for local entrepreneurs and improving the overall shopping experience for consumers.
Funded under the government’s Basic Infrastructure Program (BIP), the project forms part of efforts to develop public infrastructure and support economic growth in provincial communities.
The DPWH said the completed market supports the administration’s directive to deliver quality public facilities that address the needs of communities outside major urban centers.
The new facility is expected to benefit local vendors and residents once it becomes fully operational.
