Seiko Epson Corporation has achieved a significant milestone with cumulative global sales of Epson’s high-capacity ink tank printers, surpassing 100 million units since the launch of EcoTank in 2010.
Initially introduced in Indonesia, Epson’s ink tank printers were adopted and are now sold in 170 countries and regions worldwide.
“High-capacity ink tank printers are fundamentally different from traditional cartridge models, and we faced many challenges in developing them,” said Noelle Gonzalez, marketing division head at Epson Philippines.
She added, “But we persisted, driven by the desire to help customers print without hesitation by delivering a printer that provided minimal hassle, lower costs, and a reduced environmental impact. Since our debut, we’ve seen remarkable support for these products, providing users with cost-effective, reliable, and eco-conscious printing solutions.”
Epson’s high-capacity ink tank printers are well-established in emerging markets, where affordability and eco-conscious usage are essential to businesses and households.
This innovative technology continues to resonate across Asia, aligning with the rising demand for efficient, sustainable, and cost-effective alternatives to traditional cartridges.
Since launching this range, Epson has transformed the printer business model, becoming a dominant player in the high-capacity ink tank printer segment.
Strong market impact
Epson maintains the No. 1 global market share in high-capacity ink tank printers, with approximately 45% of units shipped to the office and home inkjet printer market.
In Southeast Asia, where Epson is the market leader for ink tank printers, this approach has driven accessible, environmentally conscious printing solutions that address diverse user needs.
Epson will continue to focus on innovations tailored to meet customers’ unique needs across Asia and the world, providing both value and reduced environmental impact.
