Tesla to launch first Phl store on Nov. 9

Tesla will open its first store in the Philippines on November 9, marking a major step in the company’s expansion across Southeast Asia.

The new location, situated at the Uptown Mall in Taguig City, will serve as a hub for electric vehicle (EV) sales and Tesla’s energy products.

The official opening follows earlier reports that construction had begun on the site earlier this year, signaling Tesla’s strategic move to tap into the Philippine market. Tesla has also announced a media preview of the store on November 8, a day before the public launch.

While Tesla has not confirmed which specific models will be available at the Manila store, it’s expected that popular models like the Model 3 and Model Y will be among the initial offerings. The store will also sell Tesla’s energy products, including the Powerwall, which allows homeowners to store solar energy for use during power outages or peak demand times.

The Philippine launch marks Tesla’s latest foray into the Asia-Pacific region, where it has expanded its EV and energy product sales in recent years. Along with the Philippines, Tesla has opened sales in Singapore, Thailand, Malaysia, South Korea, and Japan.

The opening in Manila is expected to make a significant impact on the local automotive market, as the Philippines looks to grow its electric vehicle sector and embrace cleaner, more sustainable energy solutions.

Tesla’s recent hiring efforts in Taguig for roles in sales, service, finance, operations, and human resources further suggest that the company plans to ramp up its operations across the country, with potential for nationwide sales in the future.
