TESDA offers 455 scholarship slots for various skills and trades

The Technical Education and Skills Development Authority – Cordillera State Institute of Technical Education (TESDA-CSITE) is offering a total of 455 scholarship slots for various skills and trades.

Among the skills available for training are bartending, electronics installation and maintenance, electronics assembly servicing, trainers methodology, food and beverage services, organic agriculture production, gas metal arc welding, masonry, and shielded metal arc welding, according to TESDA-CSITE scholarship focal person Beverly Cudli in an interview on Tuesday.

“For specific trade skills, they are available at the five CSITE campuses: the main campus at Military Cut-off and Loakan in Baguio City, Ifugao campus, Kalinga campus, Mountain Province campus, and Abra campus,” she stated.

The scholarships fall under several programs, including the Training for Work Scholarship Program (TWSP), Tulong Trabaho Scholarship Program (TTSP), Special Training for Employment Program (STEP), and the Universal Access to Quality Tertiary Education Act (UAQTEA). The TTSP is designed for displaced workers, while the TWSP focuses on industry-specific training to upskill workers. The UAQTEA targets senior high school graduates pursuing a three-year diploma course, and the STEP is open to anyone interested in learning a skill for business or livelihood.

CSITE was established under Republic Act 11192, passed in 2019, and serves as the training arm of TESDA. Scholars benefit from free training, free assessment, and a monetary allowance, with diploma courses also including a book allowance. The Technical Education and Skills Development Authority – Cordillera State Institute of Technical Education (TESDA-CSITE) is offering a total of 455 scholarship slots for various skills and trades.
